Q: I have a question about the demon brands on Vicki and her ability to heal. I have noticed that she seems to bounce back pretty quick after getting roughed up but in particular, in Heart of Fire, after she cut her hand to feel Delphine, she had it bandaged while still in the church but once she and Mike got back to her office - the bandage was gone and her hand was fine. I realize that the scenes are not shot in order so this could just be a continuity error but it got me thinking about the possible benefits of her brands. Could they be causing her to heal rapidly? Thank you Tanya for creating these characters and thanks to Citytv for carrying the show. I love it!
A: I suspect it was actually a continuity error but I like your theory better!
Q: Hi: I understand that this TV series is based on a series of stories or novels that you have written. Are they available and, if so, what is the series called? Are they as hot as some of the episodes? Love the chemistry between Vicki and Henry!!!!
A: Blood Ties is based on a five book series – BLOOD PRICE, BLOOD TRAIL, BLOOD LINES, BLOOD PACT, and BLOOD DEBT. They've just been re-released with new covers from the show. As to whether they're as hot as some of the episodes, well, that's up to you to decide. *g*
Q: When will the series be put on DVD?
A: There's episode only DVD's coming out in the UK in January but I have no information on a North American release.
Q: I loved the Smoke series. Is there anything that could convince you to carry that on?
A: Honestly? Sales numbers high enough to convince my agent it's not a bad career move.
Q: I'm an amateur fantasy writer and my question is how did you come up with the characters for bloodties what inspired you to write fiction?
A: The problem is, as much as I'd like to, I can't tell you how I came up with these characters. Not precisely. I wrote the first book fifteen years ago now and have no idea of what I was thinking at the time. I can say that Vicki is a little me, Henry is based on a real historical figure with some obvious extrapolations, and Mike, well, Mike is a good cop thrust into a weird situation. As for writing fiction, I was always a storyteller and eventually, I just started writing the stories down.
