Jill Belland

Host/ Producer The City Show

Jill was born in Edmonton, but moved to the Calgary at a young age.  Growing up with exposure to many aspects of the arts, Jill learned classical piano at the age of four, went on to train as a singer, and as a teenager competed as a ballet/jazz/tap and dancer.  She joined the Calgary Stampeder Outrider squad, cheering on the Stamps for four years and two Grey Cup Championships.  Jill also pursued her vocal performances on the football field by singing the National Anthem in front of 35,000 people at every home game.

Jill Belland has worked for Citytv for five years and got her foot in the door pouring coffee on the morning show!  Since then she has produced segments on the Big Breakfast, she was a Production Assistant for the News department, and she hosted MTVCanada entertainment news segments.  Jill was promoted to Host/Producer of Wired in 2003.

In May of 2006 Jill Belland picked up an AMPIA award in the category of Best News Information Series for The City Show.

Education:

University of Calgary in the Faculty of Communications and Culture with a concentration in Media Studies.

Extracurricular:

Jill is continually taking classes at the University and has recently taken up studies in Drama. She is a film, dance, theatre and music fanatic. She loves checking out as many live performances as she can!
