Weather Specialist
Andrew Schultz joined Citytv in 2006 as the weather specialist for Citytv.
Andrew started his career while enrolled in the Broadcasting program at Mount Royal College. He was hired as a Production Assistant on the internationally syndicated entertainment program The Movie Show. This led to a full-time job upon graduation as a writer, producer, reporter and segment host on the program. During his time he had the pleasure of traveling across North America interviewing some of Hollywood's hottest stars including Eddie Murphy, Sandra Bullock, Ethan Hawke and Steve Martin. It was at this time that he caught the bug for "live" TV. He took a job as the Weather Anchor in Red Deer in 1996. He has since worked as a Weather Anchor in Edmonton and most recently here in Calgary since 2001.
He was the first reporter on the scene of the Pine Lake Tornado tragedy in July 2000. His coverage of the tragedy headlined Provincial, National and International newscasts. In 2001, that coverage garnered a C.A.B.(Canadian Association of Broadcasters) Gold Award for "Breaking News Coverage."
He also has a passion for radio. From 2001 to 2004 he worked at CBC Radio One Calgary (1010AM) as a segment producer and fill-in show host on the programs The Homestretch, Wild Rose Country and Daybreak Alberta. Most recently, he filled the role of Weather Anchor on AM770 CHQR Radio Calgary.
