Judy Gabriel
Reporter, Your City and The City Show

Judy Gabriel is a native Eritrean, born in Ethiopia, a region in the Horn of Africa. She fled the war torn country of Ethiopia with her family many years ago, finding refuge in Kenya, and moving shortly after to Calgary, Alberta. In 1999 Judy's talents for telling stories landed her the 'Best of the North Western Award of Excellence in Human Understanding' for her documentary; Wandering Souls. In July of 2002, Judy landed one of her favourite posts as co-host for Rogers KISS FM's morning show, Manchild and Judy G.

As an industry veteran of 10 years, she has worked locally, nationally and internationally reporting, producing and writing as well as hosting the shows; Books Into Film, Inside Movies, Inside Entertainment, Entertainment Beat, TKO and, as Supervising Producer, Hollywood Spotlight.
In 2007, Judy joined Citytv as the Web Specialist Reporter for Your City and the Entertainment Reporter for The City Show.
Aside from her life in the media, Judy is known for her work as a community ambassador. In 2006 she received the 'Multicultural Gala Media Award of Appreciation' and, in 2007, Premiere Ed Stelmach presented her with a Ceritficate of  Recognition for her work in maintaining cultural heritage in Alberta.

Extra Curricular:
In her spare time, Judy enjoys reading history and biographies, spending time with her family and traveling.
She is an athlete who enjoys keeping active and loves to play basketball, running track and cycling. Judy volunteers countless hours as host or emcee and appears at various community events.
