Aisling Slattery

Anchor/Reporter

Aisling was born in Kilkenny, Ireland before her family moved to Nigeria, Africa. Her family arrived in Canada in the late 1980's, and she’s been here ever since. Aisling graduated from Dr. E.P. Scarlett High School which is where she believes her journalistic interests began. Writing for the Scarlett FEVER, was an amazing opportunity to introduce a high school student to journalism. This opportunity led to writing pieces with the Calgary Sun and the Calgary Herald. She later moved on to study at Mount Royal College where she won the North American Mobility Scholarship to work and study in the United States. Aisling worked in a news station in Florida and from there was hooked on live TV. After graduation, she worked in Lethbridge as a videographer before accepting a job as an anchor/reporter on the east coast. In Halifax, she covered everything from the White Juan snow storm to the HMCS Chicoutimi disaster to President Bush's first Canadian visit. She is now proud to be back in Calgary working for Citytv.
