iPod and MP3 users in "Your City" are left out in the cold when it comes to downloading TV shows, unlike our friends to the south. That has recently changed with the entry of Calgary's mobovivo.com.

Trevor Doerksen is the president.

Instead of waiting for  Apple to put TV shows on the Canadian iTunes Store, president Trevor Doerksen is beating them to the chase by launching his own company to do just that.

"We have about 2 dozen content agreements from the largest Canadian broadcasters to the smallest producers in Canada," explains Doerksen.

Once an agreement has been worked out, Doerksen takes the shows and turns them into files your iPod can read. The video is uploaded to the Mobovivo site where customers can purchase the with the click of a mouse.

At this point, Mobovivo is focusing on Canadian content for your iPod, but that could soon change as the company continues to grow. The only problem is licensing issues.

"We'd like to see the top Canadian shows, we'd like to see some of the top American shows on our website as well but the rights issues are quite complex."

This is a fight that could pay of for Doerksen as iPod fans look at ways of getting TV shows on their iPods.
