Smokey and the Bandit is known as the movie that made the Pontiac Trans Am.
In 1977 GM came out with the Limited Edition Firebird with the patented flaming hawk on the hood and the black and gold paint scheme. The car packed a punch with a 400 cubic inch Pontiac wide block and superior suspension upgrades compared to other cars in its class. This ride was top of the line under the Pontiac brand, and it still commands respect from car enthusiasts around the world.
“Everyone who has one is passionate about them and it’s kind of neat to see that,” says Dave Holmes, President of the Calgary Firebird Club and original owner of this unmodified classic.
