"As a parent you are worried and you are concerned and you want to make sure that this is the best fit for your child and for yourself," says Andrea Schupley. Andrea Schupley is a mother of two who found the right fit with an unregistered day home for her 19 month old through Calgaryarea.com. "It worked really well for us because we were actually new to the area andI didn't know anybody in the area so that was a really resourceful tool for us," says Schupley. It worked well, until the website that helped Schupley find a day home removed more than 850 unregistered providers last month. "I was on it yesterday and I was just shocked that there's not enough information on it now," says Schupley. The president of the website says it's a risk to have unlicensed day home providers on the site.

Calgaryarea.com is not the only place parents can look for day homes. Webisites such as www.kijiji.com and http://www.calgaryschild.com/ have both licensed and unlicensed day homes.
