Gadget Guy: GPS Tracker
Lost in the woods? Just call on Spot.

- - - STORY CONTINUES BELOW IMAGE - - -
A cell phone can be your best friend if you run into trouble in the middle of nowhere...unless of course there is no cell reception.
That's where Spot comes in.

Spot is the world's first personal satellite tracker. When turned on it sends a signal to satellites pinpointing your exact location. Loved ones can then go online and see exactly where you. If you get into trouble just press the 911 button and rescue will be dispatched to your location.

The unit is durable, waterproof and can withstand temperatures from -40 to 80 degrees Celsius.

On the downside you have to pay a yearly fee and it needs line of sight with the satellites in order for a signal to register. So if you're stuck under an overhang in the mountains or fall into a crevasse you'll be out of luck.
