Leslie Feist hit it big with a little i-pod nano commercial last year.
Today, the Calgarian singer songwriter returns to her stomping grounds to film her latest music video.
Jill Belland found Feist among some old friends at The Old Trout Puppet Workshop in Inglewood.
"This project's 12 years in the making. Yeah I worked at a vintage clothing shop in Inglewood and I would walk by the Garry Theatre. I bought a ticket to see The Death of Benvenuto Cellini, a Green Fools show which was a company Judd (Palmer) was working with. It was then that I became obsessed with puppets... so it's his fault!"
Judd Palmer went onto found The Old Trout Puppet Workshop, now a world class company based in Calgary. Palmer created a cast of characters for Feist's upcoming video Honey Honey. While you will see puppets in the video, you won't see Leslie. "I am a mere spectator. I love this! I'm not even in it, I just get to hang out!"
Feist will return to Calgary beginning of April for the Juno awards. She is nominated in 5 categories.
