Have you ever wondered how to apply fake eyelashes, or get that perfect sun-kissed look? In this brand new online series, Tracy's Tricks, Citytv makeup artist Tracy Peart shares her secrets on how to look gorgeous, effortlessly!

In March, the focus is on eyes, so each week we're going to share a tip on eye makeup application and technique.

Tip #2: Choosing the right brush for the right job, in this case eye shadow brushes. Did you know they're not all made alike? Firmer bristle brushes are best if you want to pick up lots of colour (as you'll see in the photo above), while softer brushes pick up less colour and are great if you want something a bit more subtle.

So if you're using a soft bristle brush and wondering why the colour doesn't appear as vibrant on your lid as it does in the compact, that's why.

Watch the video below as Tracy Peart demonstrates with a vibrant shade of teal.
