This makeover was done by hairstylist Grace Tartaglia of Image Makeover and makeup artist Dino Dilio of Dino Dilio Beauty.
Grace: Amanda’s hair is really quite thick. She had gotten an inverted bob before, which doesn’t really work for her face because it’s giving her too much fullness around her jaw. So what I propose to do is give her an exciting new look. We’re going to add lots of volume to the top, take away the weight at the bottom, and really sculpt her face. So, a haircut that works for her, that’s fun, exciting, and easy to look after. I’m going short, but it will be a very feminine cut.
Dino: She has a lovely face, and I’d like to work with some bold colours, like intense blues, which can look really great – not just like a rainbow trout – it will look really pretty. I also want to address her brows because she’s actually someone who needs to grow in her brows, and after the makeover you’ll be able to see where she needs to grow them in.
Grace: We kept the length at the back – so I left what was going on there, but removed all of that weight from the back of her head, so that it’s more sculpted for her face. I gave her a lot of texturizing to make it look more piecey and just a lot more modern and easy to take care of. So after blow-drying, she just has to use a little bit of flat iron, because her hair is quite coarse, and a bit of wax, and she’s done!
Dino: I wanted to say, when you get a compact like this, with many bold shades, you don’t use all of the colours at once. So all I used was the light blue and the grey/blue. I would use the other, bolder colours more at nighttime; I think for day, they’d be a bit too much. So, cool eyes, a neutral lip, and a warm cheek. And look at her brows, its all powders. She can now see how to grow them in.
