One of the keys to good-looking makeup is having the right makeup brushes. Invest in quality brushes; they cost more but last a lifetime and provide effortless application.

What to look for:

  • Buy brushes made from natural bristles such as pony, goat, sable or squirrel. Natural hairs get softer and more pliable over time.

  • Natural bristles feel soft and silky to the touch and have a dull glow.

    bristle point

  • When you spread the brush the bristles should have a very fine point.

  • Synthetic brushes are stiff and can have a glossy sheen.

  • Use synthetic brushes to apply concealer, lip makeup or cream based makeup.
