Pre-Preggo Jeans

They are tight as hell…but they are on.

You might call them sausage casings - I call them my pre-pregnancy jeans and my bum is in them. Snugly - but it still counts.

There are a few post-pregnancy weight loss milestones a girl never forgets.

One is shedding those humongous granny panties.

You know the ones.

A constant reminder that yes, your backside was once that big.

But they will now remain hidden in the back of the panty drawer never to be seen again (well, until the next baby that is…)

Another is fitting into shoes again.

Not flip flops, running or orthopedic shoes…but real, cute shoes.

Without Velcro.

Now that my friend is a very big deal.

Another big milestone: fitting into the dreaded pre-pregnancy jean.

The day those jeans fit again is the day you have slayed the beast.

And I, my friends, have slayed the beast.

Now I will add in the name of full disclosure, the pre-pregnancy jeans I was able to squeeze into on November 22nd (see pictures) were not my pre-Sidney jeans…they are my pre-Eva jeans. And yes there’s a difference.

Before Sidney I was 136 pounds.

I’m not even trying to go back there.

All I’m looking for is a nice 144 pounds. That’s what I weighed the second time around when I peed on the pregnancy stick and that weight is good enough for me.

So let me catch you up to where I’m at:

As I write this I am sitting at 152 pounds.

Just eight pounds away from the goal!

I am so happy to be in single-digit weight loss territory I could scream (and sometimes I do).

I am finding my eating plan is working well for me (thanks Joey Shulman www.drjoey.com ) Do I still cheat? Hell yes! But it’s all part of the plan. Except for that slice of chocolate pecan cake I just ate. That wasn’t part of the plan, but it tasted really good so whatever.

I’m only human and some weeks keeping my cheating to one meal is tough.

I also faced some workout challenges these past two weeks due to sleep deprivation and flu symptoms. But this is life and the thing I keep telling myself is if I skip a workout (or two) I’ll just do one tomorrow. And if I eat a huge, honking piece a cake, I’ll make sure I get back on track at the next meal.

No magic – just plain eating well (mostly) and working out.

I’m almost at the end of the advanced kettle bell workout I’ve been doing for the past 10 weeks so I’ll have to touch base with Ryan Shanahan (www.kettleworx.com ) to figure out what to do next.

Stay with me via Twitter @tracycityline or through my blog at www.cityline.ca for updates on  shedding the baby weight. And I’d love to hear how your weight loss (or gain?) efforts are going.

Keep those emails coming at contacttracy@cityline.ca and I’ll post some of your triumphs and struggles as well.

I love it when we motivate each other!
