I must be nuts to encourage you all to click on this video.
I’ve been really good about being honest when it comes to my weight loss adventures…but that’s easy to do when you have a hair and makeup artist making you look cute every morning.
In this video I HAVE NO MAKEUP ON.
There I said it.
Go and have a good laugh.
The reason why I’m all striped down and in my workout clothes is because the good people at Extreme Fitness have offered to host a Biggest Loser challenge with the Rogers employees who work at Dundas Square – home of Citytv.
We are also calling it Fit for Vic because the contest will end right before the Victoria Day long weekend.
So you lose the pounds just in time to drink them back on again with loads of beer.
Perfect, right?
While I might come across as a carefree, laid back gal on TV I can actually be quite competitive but only when it comes to certain things. Like who can eat that chocolate the fastest, who has the tidiest desk and who is the fittest.
I’ve done all the major weight loss stuff and now it’s down to the nitty gritty. The last five or ten pounds.
As predicted by Dr. Joey Shulman, (www.drjoey.com) it is taking me wayyyyy longer than I ever expected to get past these last pounds. My weight stopped going down at 152. It dipped down as low as 149 but keeps popping right back up again.
What gives?
Joey gave me a list of things to do to break my plateau. The first week it worked and I dropped a few pounds (!)
The second week it backfired and I gained a few pounds. For me it was a psychological breaking point and I spent the next seven days eating whatever I could get my hands on. In my mind all I thought was, “Well it ain’t coming off anyway. Might as well enjoy all of the chocolate and bread I can.”
Problem is I spent that whole week feeling awful. Mind you when the food was in my mouth – life was good. But then I would go to bed feeling stuffed and wake up feeling guilty. I continued to work out everyday but this phrase wasin the back of my mind the whole time: “You can’t out train a bad diet”
That’s exactly what I was trying to do.
So when I saw the email for Fit for Vic I thought it would be a great way to renew my faith in fitness and healthy food.
This video is of my fitness assessment with Stephanie, the brave soul that is walking about 25 of us through the challenge. She is so cool and has an awesome bod so I’m already feeling psyched.
I will say though that you could be Lance Armstrong and go through one of these fitness assessments and walk away feeling like a useless glutton. But in the end, seeing your weight and fat content (yikes) in an actual printout is pretty good motivation.
So go for it and check out my numbers (ugh).
And follow along.
This could be fun!
Keep those emails coming friends.
