I still remember my first trip to the Toronto Baby Time Show (www.babytimeshows.ca). I was as big as a house and my ankles had magically disappeared. I was just days from giving birth to my eldest but I still thought I should go. I figured I’d be missing an important pregnancy milestone if I skipped it.
Here’s what I remember from that first visit: a big escalator, a huge bag of information swag and lots (and LOTS) of booths. A wee overwhelming. It would have been a nice little jaunt had I been hanging out in my pre-baby body, but with an extra 40 or 50 pounds on me I wanted to moonwalk back out the front doors.
I’m not saying this so you don’t go. It’s a great (and convenient) way to get every bit of product and information for your baby in one spot. I just wished at the time I had some kind of a guide as to where to go and what to see. So I’m giving you at least one tip to carry with you this weekend: go to the Boiron booth and then catch me at the main stage at 2pm on Saturday, April 16. We can hang out, take photos, chat about how cute our kids are and how they drive us insane.
I will be there primarily to talk about my experiences using Boiron medication for my children (and myself and husband for that matter).
Many of us have corresponded already via Twitter about what to do when the babe has a cough like a seal or snot that seems to be participating in a marathon run. My answer is always the same: jump in your car, drive to Loblaw or Shoppers Drug Mart and purchase the following from Boiron – Stodal for the cough, Coryzalia for the runny nose and Oscillo for fever and body ache. I started using these products on Sidney (my first) because there was nothing else approved that you could give a baby for colds. Now with Eva (my second) I’ve added on Cocyntal for those lovely gas pains she had when she was a few weeks old, and Camilia for her growing teeth.
Are you thinking, what the heck makes her the expert on homeopathic remedies? The answer is I am an expert at nothing. But I am a mom and I know what it feels like to have a sick child and no relief in sight. We’ve all been there. So I’m spreading the word on behalf of Boiron that you don’t have to feel helpless as a parent. And that there is a way to stop that snot.
Oh and they want me to pass this on as well; you could win lots of prizes (like $2,000 to spend at Babies R Us) and bragging rights if you enter the Camilia Smiles www.CamiliaSmiles.com contest. It costs you nothing to enter and all you have to do is send in a picture of your gorgeous baby (remember yours is the cutest baby ever born, right?) and then bribe all of your family and friends to vote for your babe and you could win!
See you Saturday.
Come armed with your babies, toddlers, teens (yeah like they’re really coming with you to the Baby Time Show) and some hot baby gossip and we’ll chill.
