Baby Number Two On The Way!

You’ve probably noticed that I’ve gained a little weight.

Okay a lot of weight.

It’s okay though – it’s baby weight and I’m about to lose maybe 7 or 8 pounds of it this Monday, August 16th.

That is the day I’m going into hospital to get induced and welcome baby #2 into our lives!

I’m so excited to meet this little one. And it’s not just the fact that I can’t see my Shrek feet or wear shoes with laces. It’s that I genuinely can’t wait to see what Lio and I have made this time around.

Will this baby be a carbon copy of Sidney? Will she/he carry grandma’s very prominent genes? What will her/his personality be like?

Just so you know I do know the gender already, but Lio and I are keeping it a secret from my Dad. He’s old fashioned and wants to be surprised. I have explained to him a few times that it’s not his baby but he’s not really getting it…so we’ll play along. I’m just grateful to have grandparents that are so uber involved in the life of our kids.

Okay so the point of all this is to give you all the details on my maternity leave and so on.

First of all, you’re not getting rid of me for long. Me and the awesome bosses at Citytv and Rogers have worked out a sweet deal that will help me and Lio balance this family thing with our careers. My last official day of work is Friday, August 13th, but you’ll be seeing fresh shows all next week! They are great so make sure you watch.

After that you will be treated to the plethora of Canadian talent replacing me on CityLine while I’m gone. Are you ready for some of the names?

Erin Davis of CHFI fame
Micki Moore diva of daytime talk on Citytv
Dina Pugliese and Kevin Frankish super fabulous Toronto Breakfast Television hosts
Frank Ferragine and Jennifer Valentyne also of Breakfast Television fame
Jack Hourigan and Richard Cazeau from Citytv’s What’s Cooking
And…are you ready for this one?
Dini Petty!!
She’s going to come in and do a couple of shows while I’m away. What a treat!

And there are so many more people coming in to hold down the fort so don’t miss a show.

I’ll only be away for six weeks because Lio has been awesome enough to take a full year off from work. I’m loving this man! And I will invest in a breast pump of course. I’d like to go the nursing route again if humanly possible.

And when I return to CityLine I’ll only be coming in to do the show and then going right  back home to baby. You can keep those viewer emails coming in though to tracy.moore@cityline.ca because I’ll still be working from home.

For those of you who have come down to see a live taping I know we’ve all gotten used to hanging out after the show, taking pictures and gossiping…but I’ll have to put that on hold and rush out right after the taping just for the first few months of the baby’s life. Sorry! Doesn’t mean we can’t love each other for an hour in studio.

Finally, you may get sick of me yet because even while I’m away I’m trying to get all tech savvy and Skype into the show a few days a week just to catch you up on life with baby. The web cam should be coming in today and Skype is free so it should be a cool way to keep in touch.

I’m debating doing a “Losing the Baby Weight” blog as well while I’m gone but I just can’t promise I’ll have the time. My last doctor’s appointment (last week) I was up to a 56 pound weight gain. Ahhhhhhh!  I admit I went a little crazy this time around but man was it worth every single, carb-y bite. But now it’s time to take it off and (Lord help me) it will be an uphill battle.

Anyway. I love you all and will miss you much! Your gifts, cards and words of encouragement have been a real inspiration for me. The moms and dads who come down to the show make me feel like I’m part of a really supportive community and for that I’m so grateful.

Wish me luck and talk to you soon!
