The best way to enjoy your reception is to treat it like a party. That means warm, intimate tables that make guests feel at home. Lynn Spence creates two different table vignettes to celebrate your special day.

Vignette 1
The pale yellow of this table vignette has a nice warming effect and is perfect for a fall wedding. Rather than strong fall colours Lynn chose to use a yellow and rust palette; colours that she pulled from the beautiful rug underneath.
If you’re planning a smaller reception in the backyard or in your home consider renting tables and chairs like Lynn did. She rented the 32” tables and white bamboo chairs from Exclusive Rental. Because the tables are round Lynn wanted to do something unexpected and used square plates. Since white dishware shows off food so beautifully Lynn used porcelain dishes on the tables and found porcelain napkin rings and place cardholders. The best thing about these cardholders is that they’re reusable. To bring just a touch of bright colour Lynn added bittersweets wrapped in ribbon to the backs of the chairs.
Make sure that guests have a lovely keepsake and reminder of the day. Lynn had these baby urns made that pick up on the yellow of the tables.
For the dessert table Lynn found these interesting apothecary glass jars and filled them with fall apples and yellow covered almonds, again pulling the yellow from the urns. And instead of a centrepiece on each table Lynn placed this exquisite one on the dessert table. Again she brought in the colours of the tables with yellow and apricot roses.

Vignette 2
This reception has an English garden feel to it with the velvetleaf obelisks and lamps on the receiving table and the touches of wood and velvetleaf table runner on the dining table. On the receiving table Lynn mixed organic items (the obelisks, lamps, photo album) with pewter so the table wasn’t overwhelmingly feminine. And on the dining table she also mixed organic and masculine and feminine elements. The faux bamboo chairs around the table bring in a wood element and instead of gold chargers she found ones with a brown border, which repeats the feel of wood. Lynn repeated the pewter on the receiving table on the dining table with the flatware, napkin rings and cardholders. To create a more relaxed feeling Lynn put small ice buckets on the table for smaller bottles. This is so much more intimate and less formal than someone serving you. To show off the food Lynn once again used cream dinner and salad plates and placed keepsakes for the guests on top of the place settings.
