National Reporter for City News International
You can take Stacey out of Edmonton but you would have a tough time taking Edmonton out of Stacey. Like many born in Saskatchewan, Stacey moved to Edmonton when she was 2 and now can’t get enough of the city she calls her home town. She's moved 11 times and lived in 5 different provinces, but it seems every second move was to Edmonton. She's a graduate of McNally High, the school perched high above Edmonton’s picturesque river valley.
It wasn’t an easy road for Stacey. After a year of Sciences at the University of Alberta, Stacey remembered how she felt about math. She then was accepted at NAIT in the Radio and Television Arts course...graduating in 1994. Since then, she has worked at Global here in Edmonton, CHBC in Kelowna, and CTV in Yorkton and Winnipeg.
She is one of the originals at Citytv Edmonton, helping launch the station in 1997.
EDUCATION:
Radio and Television Arts Program, Northern Alberta Institute of Technology.
EXTRACURRICULAR:
Playing crib, singing Rod Stewart and Cher songs at karaoke, traveling and taking pictures while I’m there.
WHAT I LOVE ABOUT MY JOB:
"This is a hard question. It should be what I ‘hate’ about my job. It's extremely rare that I don't look forward to coming into work...and
that's after more than 4 years of working weekends, and a year of working at 5 a.m.. Crazy, I know. I love that my day is never the same...and relish the opportunities to do things most people will never get to do. "
