News Anchor, Breakfast Television & CityNews at Noon
Born in Montreal, Rob moved to Edmonton where he completed his post secondary education. Once that was in the bag it was off to Saskatchewan to start a career in television. It’s a very difficult and lonely place for an Edmonton Eskimos fan. After a fantastic five years, it was time to come back to Edmonton. Rob has been a part of the city’s media scene since 1992. He’s worked the bulk of that time in television, doing a variety of things including news, weather & sports. He has also dabbled in radio and print.
During his time in Edmonton Rob has been quite active with local groups and charities – one of his favourite events is “Read in Week”, when he goes out to elementary schools and reads to the children.
Education:
Radio and Television Arts Program - NAIT
Bachelor of Arts - University of Alberta.
Extracurricular:
Rob spends a lot of time with his wife and 3 dogs. That’s right – 3! So while he spends a lot of time sweeping up hair and cleaning the backyard – he also likes to ride his road bike, go to the gym and take in movies (sometimes just for the popcorn!). A magazine or book is always nearby, with biographies being his favorite thing to read.
What I love about my job:
It is a thrill working on a show I know I would watch if I was up and at home. My coworkers never fail to make me laugh a number of times during the show. I can’t think of a better way to start my day.”
