Child-star Mary Kate Olsen, singer Karen Carpentener, and even Diana Princess of Wales suffered from an eating disorder.

More than three percent of Canadians will struggle with either anorexia or bulimia sometime in their lives. Many doctors say it's a mental illness.  But just east of Edmonton, there is an organization that considers anorexia an addiction. The treatment model at Sacred is based on the 12 steps most commonly used by alcoholics.

For more information, visit www.sacredeatingdisorders.com.

Sacred has been forced to shut down twice due to lack of funding.  Alberta women must pay $1200 to go to the house while out-of-province women must shell out $5000.
