We've all seen the images from around the world: drought-stricken regions with cracked soil where lakes used to lie, geographical victims of evaporation, over-development, even global warming. But the same thing could be happening on our home turf.

Just an hour and a half north of Edmonton, at Skeleton Lake, residents are waving a red flag. They're gaining shoreline and losing fish.
