Danielle Peers/Wheelchair Basketball Athlete

Danielle is a wheelchair basketball athlete. She used to be captain of MacEwans basketball team about 10 years ago then she got muscular dystrophy. She turned to wheelchair basketball and embraced this challenge with passion, making the National Team six months after diagnosis. That same year she began a four-year winning streak of the Canadian Women's Championships, and brought home a Bronze Medal from the Athens Paralympics. Now she's training for the Beijing Olympics. She is Edmonton's latest Hall of Fame inductee and is also up for the Sportswomen of the Year Awards - contending for the award is also Hayley Wickenheiser (hockey) and Kelly Scott (curling). Patrick Warburton/'The Civilization of Maxwell Bright'

Bridget is joined by Patrick Warburton. EIFF is proud to present the Canadian Premiere of this blistering (and at times, blisteringly profane and funny) multiple-award winner. Ultra-misogynist Maxwell Bright (Patrick Warburton: Seinfeld, The Tick, Family Guy), fed up with dating American women, decides to get a mail order bride from China. Things go well for him at first as she appears as subservient as advertised, but when he embarrasses her (and himself) in front of his friends at a poker night, he finds that she is much more than just a prim and proper housewife. In fact, she just might lead this unlikable jerk to redemption (or will she?).
