Jill Dangerfield/Jeaneologist

Jeaneology is "what separates us from all other jean retailers, through our knowledge and expertise." Jean tips: generally speaking, any embellishments or distress areas accent and enhance the body in those areas. Wear washes that compliment your best features and create a more flattering silhouette. The darker the wash, the more slimming effect. A slight flare looks good on every body type. The finishing process creates small variations from one pair of jeans to the next.

Here is jeaneology info for body types:

BOYISH FIGURE Boy cuts obviously work well Low-rise and straight cut Avoid super tight styles and stretch

FLAT BUM Choose low-rise denim with larger back pockets to create an image of a fuller behind Avoid jeans that are high in the back rise because they make the behind appear longer Avoid rigid denim. Stretch is best. Embellishments and pocket details give the appearance of a fuller bottom

CURVY FIGURE Go for a style that skims (but doesn't hug) your leg Trying a size larger than usual to avoid jeans from looking too tight Flares and boot-cuts are good because they elongate the leg and give some heft to the ankle area to even out proportions Avoid fitted stretch jeans or baggy jeans with no shape Avoid small back pockets. Larger pockets will make the butt appear smaller

TUMMY Full-length stretch denim helps create a slimming look Low rise jeans look best but not too tight Avoid cropped jeans Avoid tummy over-hang and cropped tops

BIG BOTTOM Avoid skin-tight styles and extra embellishment on the back Back pockets should be proportionally sized and spaced. Pockets that are too small or too far spaced will make a backside look even broader Flares and Boot-cuts are best for balancing this body type Dark denim is slimming Low-rise jeans can also flatter the bottom

TALL & THIN Poor you! Let's face it....anything works....but for best fits.... Choose extra low-rise styles to show off that flat tummy Cropped jeans and skinny styles can also show off long legs
