Friends and relatives of a truck driver say diabetes may have played a role in Monday's horrific crash in west Edmonton.
Mark Santos, 25, was at the wheel when his rig went barrelling down the wrong side of the Yellowhead. It ended up plunging over the guard rail of a bridge and bursting into flames. Santos was killed. His girlfriend's uncle says he had type one diabetes which sometimes caused him to go into seizures. Bill McComick doubts Santos was suicidal or drunk at the time of the crash.
