One is the reigning Miss Canada Galaxy, and the other is a Miss Universe Canada contestant. In this edition of Celebrity Chefs, these two best friends and beauty queens cook us up a traditional Bangladeshi meal.
Kata Masala
1 kg of beef (lean slices) |
1 cup onions
2 tsp Ginger
2 tsp of garlic or 6 cloves of garlic (chopped)
6 dried red chilies
3-4 cardomins cloves
3-4 cinamon slices or 1/2 tsp (powder)
2-3 bay leaves
black pepper 1/2 tsp
salt 1/2 tsp
oil 3/4 cup
1/2 cup of yogurt
4-5 Big onins (diced)
Put the beef, ginger and everything in to the pot, stir it so the yogurt blends in and then let it sit for 30 to 45 minutes. You may need to add 1/4 cup of water, depending on how tough the meat is.
Coconut Rice
2 cups rice
1 can coconut milk
1 can water
Put the dry rice into the bottom of the rice cooker.
Stir coconut milk in can if coconut cream has separated from the liquid.
Pour coconut milk into cooker.
Add water to cooker equal to the appropriate measure.
