Celebrity Chefs: Artists Phil Alain & Lewis Lavoie (Video)
These two painters put down thier brushes as they transform into sandwich artists.

They've had over 13 million hits on their website since September - unheard of for a fine arts page on the internet.

In this edition of "Celebrity Chef", two Edmonton painters who are taking the world by storm. Their advice for starving artists out there: learn how to cook!

Alain and Lavoie's next mural has an equine theme. Painters from all over the world are hard at work and the final product will be unveiled at Spruce Meadows in September. Lavoie's sandwich was inspired by one made on the movie Spanglish with Adam Sandler.

Onion Soup
one yellow onion
4 cups of beef stock
4 slices of bacon
salt/pepper
crusty french baguette
mozzarella cheese

Fry the onions; add in the diced bacon. Cook until soft. Add in the beef stock, salt, pepper. Let boil for 20 minutes. Put in oven-safe bowls. Put on a slice of french bread with mozzarella cheese. Broil in oven until melted and brown.

World's Best Sandwich
provolone cheese
crusty bread
tomato
mayo
lettuce
bacon
egg -fried with yolk runny

Fry bacon. Melt cheese on one side of the bread. Put mayo on the other. Put bacon on cheese side of sandwich, ensuring the bacon is placed fat side to meat side on the slice. Then add tomato slices, lettuce and fried egg. Put the mayo side of the bread on top. Slice. Enjoy.
