This hard-hitting and emotional series from NBC’s "Law & Order" brand chronicles the life and crimes of the Special Victims Unit of the New York Police Department, the elite squad of detectives who investigate sexually based crimes.

Unlike the original Law & Order, SVU follows a distinct division the Special Victims Unit . As its name implies, the detectives in this division investigate crimes involving rape, sexual assault, and child molestation, as well as any crime loosely connected with any of the three.
