Starting her career as a model at only 13, she won a Fresh Faces contest in New York and with it, a $500,000 modelling contract. After only two years, she was a teen millionaire and the president of her own company. In 1991, she was named one of People magazine's 50 Most Beautiful People.

Nikki Taylor has over 400 worldwide magazine covers in her career portfolio and in May 1996, she appeared on the covers of six major magazines in the same month, Shape, Self, Marie Claire, ELLE, Vogue and Allure setting a record and they have become known as the "Nikki Six."
