What a night of big surprises! I never thought in a million years that Jesse would pick the 21-year-old law student to be his…uh, companion.
I tuned into the Bachelor Finale with two of my closest friends; L’Anne and Diane. We were all mesmerized by the events that transpired as Jesse asked the two women in his life (his Mom and Jenny the Spy) who he should pick. Both Mom and Spy voted for Jessica, deciding that she was far better suited to Jesse than Tara ever could be.
Despite the fact that Jesse went shopping for engagement rings with both girls, I really didn’t think he had any intention of getting down on one knee. While shopping for rings with Jessica, Jesse blurted out that Tara and he had looked at the exact same rings earlier. Doh!
When it came down to the final rose ceremony, Jessica arrived in the limo first, and so we all assumed that Jesse was going to choose Tara - little did we know they’d changed things around a little bit and this time it was “first come, first served!”
Jessica popped out of the limo in what was quite possibly the cutest dress I've ever seen - and she was wearing a smile from ear to ear. Jesse then told Jessica that he didn't want to wake up the next day unless he woke up next to her (as opposed to waking up beside all those strangers like he had in the past, remember?).
Of course Jessica didn't mind not getting a ring, she was just happy that she won…I mean, got her man! And as Jesse was pouring out his feelings to Jessica, poor Tara kept asking her limo driver to pull over so she could toss her cookies.
When Tara finally arrived (looking gorgeous by the way in a form-fitting white dress and a few tears in her eyes), Jessica made her way upstairs and got a bird’s eye view of Jesse and Tara together as Jesse broke the bad news.
Tara spilled her guts and told Jesse how she felt about him...but it was too little too late.
Jesse finally got the words out and told Tara that even though she “took his breath away” he'd fallen in love with someone else (as if she didn't know who that someone else was) and then the best part of the whole two hours: Tara's tears quickly dried as she told Jesse that the things that were said and done on their overnight date were inappropriate...right on, sister! Let's see how tough she gets tonight. What will she say to Jesse? What will she say to Jessica B? And what will she say to her best friend Jenny?
