| In the sixth installment of The Bachelor the ladies were introduced to not one, but two bachelors. After Byron and Jay were introduced to 25 exciting Bachelorettes they spent the day mingling with the ladies by the pool. As the women learned more and more about each Bachelor they realized the time was drawing near when they would have to make some tough decisions and it became very clear that feelings were very torn between Byron and Jay. Byron preferred the outdoors and Jay was a city boy - combined, both men offered a little bit of everything.
At the first ever Ladies' Choice Rose Ceremony the ladies lined up outside the Bachelorette's mansion, and Byron and Jay arrived. Each bachelor was given the chance to address the ladies one last time. Jay told them that he was there to find the love of his life, and he hoped someone would also find the love of their life with him. Byron told them they were beautiful, he was looking for someone to share the rest of his life with, and he hoped to remain with them. After thanking them, Chris had the men turn around so they could not see the results of the ladies votes. Each lady selected a coloured rose - yellow for Jay and white for Byron - and placed it in a box. Chris tallied the roses, with Byron Velvick scoring eighteen white roses, while Jay Overbye was cut short with only seven yellow roses.
Jay left, sorry to have lost the opportunity to have met such wonderful women. Byron thanked the women, excited to have been chosen.
