I was at Princess Margaret Hospital this
morning for my pre-chemo checkup with my oncologist. He measured my
tumour and it has shrunk again! Now it is just over half of its
original size. Hurray!!! It means the dark days of chemo hell are
worth it. I haven't stopped smiling, it makes going for chemo number
five this Thursday much easier. Now I'm actually looking forward to it
- bring it on baby! I can take just about anything if it makes the
cancer go away.
Funny note, my oncologist Dr. Bedard,
asked me why I didn't call him when I was in so much pain from my last
go around. He said he could have given me a stronger pain killer.
Truth be told it never even occurred to me to call him. Lesson
learned, don't just lie there and take it. I now have a new
prescription, in case I need it.
This is today's quote on the easel in a
hallway at Princess Margaret: "Life shrinks or expands in proportion
to one's courage." Anais Nin
I love it.
I'm off to celebrate my good news with my friends tonight. Here's to holding on to courage.
