The Canadian Opera Company unveiled its 2012-2013 season at The Four Seasons Centre on Wednesday, and upcoming performances include
Tristan und Isolde and
Il Trovatore.
“If I had to pick one I was looking forward to, it would be
Tristan because it’s my favourite piece and I’m very proud that we’ll be able to do it,” COC general director Alexander Neef told CityNews.
“But every single one of the operas we do, there’s an element we’re really proud of it.”
Oscar-nominated director Atom Egoyan will be helming
Salome. Egoyan first directed the Richard Strauss opera for the COC in 1996.
