As our regular CityNews.ca series continues, we look at some events happening in Toronto this weekend for a variety of ages and interests.

Feb. 10-12, 2012

For Families: Lots of people can probably hum his tunes, but how much do you really know about Beethoven? Music and Truffles is a quirky show about the famous composer that the whole family can enjoy. Walter Hall, U of T,  80 Queen's Park. For visitors: The Chinese New Year Carnival lights up the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts with more than 80 artists showcasing incredible costumes and bringing tales from ancient China to life on stage with music and dance. 1 Front St. W. Saturday. 8 p.m., $28-$88. www.sonycentre.ca/events

For singles: Valentine’s Day isn’t just a date for lovers, it’s a day about chocolate! Kensington Market will host a Valentine's Day Sweets & Chocolates Tour on Sunday where you’ll learn the history of certain treats and get to sample them. Kensington Market. Sunday. 11:30 a.m.- 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. Adult $20. Children $10. www.tastytourstoronto.com

For charity: You may be well-versed in the ways of love, but how about animal attraction? The Toronto Zoo is offering an evening of food and insights into the love lives of animals. Visitors will get to tour the zoo’s reproductive facilities and then have dinner. A portion of the proceeds will go to the zoo’s reproductive programs. For kicks: Explore your sexy side just in time for Valentine’s Day at the Erotic Arts & Crafts Fair. It’s the only event of its kind in Canada. A cabaret and after-party will end the festival. Gladstone Hotel, 1214 Queen St. W. Saturday. Noon-8p.m. Cabaret runs from 9-10:30 p.m. Free.
