Celebrity designer and Vancouver native Jason Wu is headed to Toronto for a one day Target pop-up shop featuring his exclusive collection.
"Working with Target has allowed me to reach a much broader audience and I'm so excited that my Canadian fans will have a chance to experience this collection for the first time," said Wu in a release. "My collaboration with Target reflects my classic design aesthetic and is filled with feminine pieces that will brighten up any woman's wardrobe."
Only 2,500 pieces will be available for sale to the public during a six-hour period on Thursday. Target will set-up a temporary location at 363 King St. West, at John Street.
The collection includes dresses, skirts and scarves and will be priced between $10 and $45, with all proceeds going to the United Way of Canada.
Target says customers will be limited to purchasing three items each to make sure all shoppers get equal access.
Wu shot to fame in 2009 when U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama wore one of his gowns to the presidential inauguration.
In January, Target announced the first 24 stores it plans to open in Canada—14 of them in the GTA, and all of them in Ontario—by March or April 2013. Target plans to open 125 to 135 stores in Canada.
