In what could be another sign compact discs may be on their way out, Elvis Costello is releasing his new studio album only on vinyl and digital download.
Momofuku hits shelves April 22, and follows 2004's The Delivery Man on the Lost Highway label. A digital download code is included in the vinyl package.
Few other details are available about the new release.
Since 2004 Costello has been busy supervising the re-release of his substantial back catalogue through Universal. One of those releases, This Year's Model, became available on March 4. Among his other recent projects, the recording of album The River in Reverse with pianist Allen Toussaint.
Costello will support his new album with headlining dates beginning April 22 in Memphis, followed by an opening slot on The Police's summer North American tour, kicking off May 10 in Chicago.
