Kevin Federline Makes It On His Own During A Stop At MuchMusic

He's a famous name, with a famous wife and a reputation as a dancer, a rapper and a playboy.

His name: Mr. Britney Spears.

O.K., that's not exactly fair to Kevin Federline, but getting married to the pop world's most famous diva was guaranteed to shove him out of the spotlight and into the shadows of the stage.

So on Monday K-Fed shoved back, appearing on MuchMusic's Much On Demand show on Queen St. West and wowing the crowds who showed up to see him.

He's here to promote his new CD "Playing With Fire", an apt title considering what the critics are bound to do to with it.

He's learned to ignore them and is trying to make a name for himself without his more famous spouse.

"They've keep running around the same circle that they've been running around for two years and nobody's really thought to get in depth or put out the right information," he complains about the media.

"It's going to take awhile," he admits about turning his reputation around.

Federline reminds he's not exactly a novice trading on his wife's reputation. "I came out to L.A. as a dancer so I definitely wanted to be in the entertainment business," he recalls. "And I didn't expect it turn out the way that it did. You know, I didn't expect to marry Britney and any of that."

But Federline never doubted you'd know who he is.

"I knew I was going somewhere," he insists. "I didn't know where it was."

On Monday, that 'where' was the Much environment and a welcome he won't likely receive in the newspapers.

But Federline is planning his revenge. He hopes to tell the real story when he pens an autobiography of his life. Almost all of it will involve the true story of what happened before Britney Spears became Mrs. Kevin Federline - and not vice versa.
