From the store that gives out hundreds of free turkeys every Christmas and just last month was offering t-shirts and socks for a dime, comes a Valentine's Day giveaway that couldn't come at a better time.
On Friday and Saturday at 3pm, Honest Ed's will be handing out 1,000 free tickets to the musical Dirty Dancing - allowing couples who may find themselves hit by hard times to still get out and have some fun.
David, son of the late Ed Mirvish, will be at the
Bloor Street store in person to give out the tickets to the first 250 couples in line each day. They will be valid for evening performances at the Royal Alexandra Theatre throughout February. The seats normally cost between $60 and $84.
