Contraband stole the weekend box office, taking in an estimated $24 million.

Mark Wahlberg stars in the thriller, playing a reformed smuggler who takes on one last heist to help pay off his brother-in-law’s debt.

A re-release took second place, with Disney’s Beauty and the Beast: 3D raking in $18.5 million in U.S. and Canadian ticket sales, according to website BoxOfficeMojo.com.

Rounding out the top three was Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol. The fourth installment in the popular Tom Cruise series took in $11.5 million.

Joyful Noise, which features Dolly Parton in her first big-screen role in 19 years, made $11.3 million domestically. The musical follows Parton and Queen Latifah as they lead a small-town church choir.
