Temperamental supermodel Naomi Campbell may be in trouble with the law again after a woman alleged the 36-year-old assaulted her.

Though police spokespersons in London wouldn't confirm that Campbell had been questioned, Sky News reported that the she had been detained at a Central London police station following the allegation.

Another British news service quoted police as saying that she had been released on bail.

The supermodel's New York-based defence lawyer, David Breitbart, said he hadn't spoken with Campbell and couldn't confirm whether she had in fact been brought in by police.

Her London representatives weren't saying much either, but one unnamed spokesperson was quoted as saying he thought the incident was nothing more than a misunderstanding that would be resolved.

Campbell is no stranger to the law. The London-born model appeared in a New York court earlier in 2006 in connection with allegations that she'd thrown a phone at a maid.

She was also accused in both 2003 and 2004 of assaulting people who worked for her.
