They may not be wearing aprons or baking cookies, but the search is on for some of Toronto’s most well-heeled housewives.

Rumours are flying that the popular “Real Housewives” series is headed north of the border.

Louise Clark, founder of Vancouver’s Lark Productions, has publicly stated her company is “currently investigating casting opportunities for a prospective new Canadian Housewives-type series,” but she won’t confirm if the show is the real deal.

In recent weeks, the buzz on the Bridle Path, Rosedale and Forest Hill is all about who will be taking part.

Word is several well-known ladies who lunch have already reportedly been approached.

Apparently fashionista Stacey Kimel has been approached and said no, along with Pink Tartan designer Kimberley Newport-Mimran.

Jessica Mulroney, married to the son of former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney and also part of the Brown shoe family, is apparently still mulling it over.

The “Real Housewives” series launched in 2006. It has shows in Orange County, New York, Beverly Hills, New Jersey, Atlanta, Washington and Miami.
