Beyoncé and Jay-Z have released pictures of their first child, Blue Ivy Carter.

The music mogul couple have until now kept a tight lid on the birth.

The pictures show Beyoncé and Jay-Z each holding their daughter, who was born on Jan. 8. There are also two single portraits of Blue Ivy.

Other celebrity couples, including Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been paid millions of dollars for the first photographs of their offspring.

The photos were released on social media sharing site Tumblr.com, along with a note thanking fans for respecting their privacy.
