The off-Broadway hit The Toxic Avenger Musical (based on the Lloyd Kaufman cult-movie The Toxic Avenger) was a huge success when it came to Toronto earlier this winter. Now you can see how the show was put together in the documentary Hot Toxic Love, premiering on Citytv March 7 at 10 p.m.

Told from the perspective of lead performers Evan Alexander Smith and Louise Pitre, Hot Toxic Love documents everything from auditions to opening night and takes the audience on a journey inside the world of theatre with its technical tricks, backstage antics and tales of heartbreak.

"Our Canadian production of The Toxic Avenger was a first class musical," said Aubrey Dan, President of Dancap Productions. "We are very proud of having created this opportunity to showcase an incredibly talented group of performers, musicians and production personnel from across the country."
