Toronto may not get a white Christmas this year, Environment Canada warned.
There’s a mere 37 per cent chance the city will see snow this Dec. 25.
“The last time we had a white Christmas in Toronto was in 2008,” CityNews weather specialist Frank Ferragine said.
“Over the last five years, what we’ve been seeing is just a centimetre on the ground, just trace amounts of snowfall...So far this month, we’ve seen 1.4 centimetres.”
The federal body analyzed 55 years of weather records to come up with the odds.
Outside Toronto, the probability of a white Christmas increases, but only slightly: The GTA has a 42 per cent chance of snow.
If it’s just not the holidays without a few flakes, head north. Environment Canada says Goose Bay, Iqaluit, Whitehorse and Yellowknife are all safe bets. There’s a 100 per cent chance those towns will have a white Christmas.
