Thousands of teddy bears have been recalled because the toys pose a potential choking hazard.
Build-A-Bear Workshop Inc. is voluntarily recalling 13,200 of its Colourful Heart Teddy Bears in Canada and an additional 284,000 in the United States because the bears’ eyes could loosen and fall out.
No injuries have been reported in relation to the recall.
Health Canada is advising parents to take the bears away from kids immediately and return them to a Build-A-Bear store. The company will provide a coupon for other stuffed animals.
The bears, which were made in China, were sold for $23 in Canada between April 2011 and December 2011.
