A popular stroller company has recalled about one million products after receiving a dozen reports of children losing part of their finger in a hinge.

The recall of Maclaren strollers, which so far only applies to the United States, was issued this week after 12 children lost their fingertips in the hinge mechanism. It includes nine models of single and double umbrella strollers sold since 1999.

Health Canada said there have been no reports of injury in Canada and it's checking to see if the models in the U.S. are the same as ones sold here. The affected models include: Volo, Triumph, Quest Sport, Quest Mod, Techno XT, TechnoXLR, Twin Triumph, Twin Techno and Easy Traveller.

Maclaren is offering free repair kits to correct the problem with the hinge.
