Families learned Tuesday which schools will offer all-day kindergarten as part of the second phase of the province’s full-day learning program for four and five-year-olds.
Up to 50,000 youngsters at 800 schools will be taking part in full-day learning across the province by 2011.
In Toronto, 101 schools will offer full-day kindergarten this fall. Next fall an additional 20 schools will be added to the list.
Earlier this year the province announced 600 schools across Ontario will be offering the new programming this September. On Tuesday, Premier Dalton McGuinty announced an additional 200 schools will be added to the list the following year.
Full-day kindergarten will be available across the province by the 2015-16 school year.
