The Krispy Kreme cheeseburger.
Tiny powdered doughnuts, ice cream waffles and corndogs may be among the foods you associate with the Canadian National Exhibition, but a new and epically unhealthy item will be offered up at this year’s fair.

The Krispy Kreme doughnut cheeseburger will make its debut the EX this year. A beef patty topped with a slice of cheddar, tomato, lettuce, bacon and an egg will be wedged between two glazed doughnuts.

The sweet and salty all-in-one dinner and dessert will be sold by Epic Burgers and Waffles. The heart attack snack packs about 1,000 calories and has made headlines in the United States.

Some of the new offerings at food stalls last year included deep-fried butter, deep-fried mac n’ cheese and a cheeseburger in a bag.

The C.N.E. kicks off Aug. 19 and runs through to Labour Day weekend.
