Thousands of cribs have been recalled in Canada due to a problem with the drop-side.
Dorel voluntarily recalled 7,600 of its cribs in Canada and more than 600,000 in the United States after the problem was reported.
There are concerns the drop-side can detach, possibly trapping a baby. The cribs were made in China and Vietnam and are sold across Canada at Sears, Babies R Us and other retailers.
There have been three reports of detached drop-sides in Canada with no injuries and the problem has resulted in the death of a six-month-old boy in Iowa and several injuries in the U.S.
Dorel is advising customers not to return their cribs, but to contact the company for a free repair kit that converts the drop-side to a fixed side.
This comes nearly two months after Stork Craft issued a massive recall of its drop-side cribs for the same problem.
