Vigil For Woman Lost Near Thunder Bay

While the desperate search for missing 20-year-old Christina Calayca continued in the heavy brush at Rainbow Falls Provincial Park near Thunder Bay on Wednesday, two separate vigils took place in the G.T.A.

Co-workers and children who worked with Calayca at St. Bernadette's Day Care centre gathered to pray for her safe return, and reveal the spirit of the young woman who left quite an impression on those she came in contact with.

"The one thing about Christina is she loved God, and that's our peace," said Angela Carvoni, Christina's boss.

Christina started working with the kids at St. Bernadette's in October after graduating from George Brown College. She was loved, and well respected by the children, and staff.

"Whenever she would enter a room, her smile would just light up the whole room. And things she would say would just make you feel better when you're feeling down," said friend Ricardo Canlas.

Another vigil took place not long after at the Prince Of Peace Catholic Church in Scarborough

Calacya went missing while camping with her female cousin and two male acquaintances.  She apparently went for a jog with one of the men and didn't return.   He was the last one to see her.
